Caribbean Medical School Admissions

IAU follows a trimester system with classes starting in January, May and September. Typically school starts on the first Monday of these months. We accept 40 students per semester and have a rolling admissions system. Students may apply for admission to the program at any time throughout the year. Early applications are encouraged as we follow a first come first serve policy.

The Office of Admissions is dedicated to providing ample support to our applicants. We will ensure that all your questions about our basic sciences and clinical programs are answered. We will also help you understand US/Canadian Residency, licensure requirements and foreign medical education as a whole.

Applications are processed within 24 hours of receipt of all required documents and payment of application fees. If you meet our requirements, a personal interview will be scheduled. After completion of the personal interview, the Admissions Committee will inform you of their decision within 48 hours. If an offer of acceptance is made, the candidate must respond within 14 days or default the opportunity to the next qualified candidate in line.

We strongly recommend that prospective students visit our campus in St. Lucia. Visiting St. Lucia will help students gain a better understanding of the Caribbean environment Students will also be able to tour our facilities, meet with current students and faculty, attend a lecture or lab, and even choose housing for their intended semester.
